Performance since start of reporting

Monthly Report

1st September 2005  – 30th September 2005

An excellent month, with a monthly return of over 30%, and taking my rolling 12 month return to over 400%.  Apart from getting caught a little over exposed to the Australian employment numbers on 8th September, which cost me about 7%, the rest of the month went very well.   Hopefully, for traders reading this, the above demonstrates what can be achieved by consistency and the power of compounding (and believing it can be done, of course!).

Performance aside, the most interesting development for the month was moving one of my two API servers to a hosting facility in the US, while the other, perhaps temporarily, continues to run from 'Head Office', here in Oz.

I'm sincerely hoping that my struggles with reliability, which have always been due to power and internet connectivity, not Java or OANDA, are now a thing of the past.

So far, the experience (of US hosting) has been excellent.

0.80% per day for the year so far!  Getting up towards the stuff of dreams!

Individual components

The following charts show individual equity curves in percentage terms of the various trading components traded throughout the period.    The charts are from inception of each trading system.

  Trade Components

As usual with these reports, when things go well, there's not a lot to say.  Hopefully the charts largely speak for themselves.

NZD turned a little nasty towards the end of the month.
Oh, well!  this was just an experiment anyway.  Normally I would have dropped a system performing like this by now, but since I've got only a tiny amount allocated to this method, I'll give it another month.
