Performance since start of reporting

Monthly Report

1st November 2005  – 30th November 2005

As you might expect, I'm very pleased with this month's performance.  At +42% for the month it is not only the best performance that I have returned since commencing these reports, but to make it all the sweeter, I was away on holiday all month!   Isn't automation wonderful!

For those reading these reports perhaps for the first time, let me briefly explain that I was trading manually up to Aug 2004, but since then all my trading is done by my computer servers without any manual trading intervention from me.   Apart from some reliability issues in the first year things have gone very well (I think the performance speaks for itself), although I did have some frustrating losses associated with downtime.    Now I have servers in both Australia and the US that do my trading (using my own programs, of course) and the reliability issue seems to be resolved.

BTW, although my servers are monitoring and trading the markets 24 hours a day,  I personally do not look at the markets  realtime at all.  I just check my balances and control logs once a day - and that can be done anywhere where there is an internet connection.   As Ed Seykota once said, looking at the markets realtime is like having a slot machine on your desk.   Like him, I don't want to be constantly championing my current positions and prefer my freedom much too much for that.

My ADPR is now up over 0.80% per day for the whole of 2005.    While I'm obviously not going to crack the 1% a day mark this year, I still think it's a realistic goal for the future, particularly since two of my individual methods are running in excess of that figure anyway.

Once again, for new readers that may not be familiar with the significance of this, take a look at my  Compounding Page.

A wonderful month's performance!

I think the days may be numbered here.   I've actually got much better systems waiting to get a chance of inclusion.   One more month I suspect.
Brilliant!  This is doing much better than AUD/JPY above, and fast catching up capital-wise. Maybe I'll publish the comparison chart sometime
Enough; no more!  Obviously either my analysis was faulty, or things have changed.   Since I've been consistently removing capital out of this account as the performance slid into oblivion, it really doesn't matter, but it is a shame as I sincerely would like to have a profitable EUR/USD system under my belt - next time perhaps.
For those who are interested the FX Thoughts section has been expanded this month.
