Monthly Report

1st December 2005  – 31st December 2005

Apologies to those waiting of this report.  A lot has been happening in my world, and I've been a bit flat-out.  As a consequence I'm also going to make this brief.

Firstly, being the end of the year,  let me extend my very best wishes to all fellow traders out there that read these reports regularly and to the many that get in touch, normally just to say hi and to say thanks.   The positive nature of the feedback I have received over the last two years is very much appreciated, and I am delighted that so many have found these reports of help and inspiration in their own trading.   I wish you all an excellent 2006.  May all your goals and dreams become a reality!

--------

Back to business!  As can be seen, December was a bit of a disappointment, with my first negative month for over a year.  Still these things happen, and the loss of  -11.485% was less than a third of the previous month's gain which, I think, puts things in perspective.

Overall I finished the year at +433%, with a max drawdown of less than 15%.  It doesn't get a lot better than that, although I'm not going to let that stop me trying!

A number of lessons were learned from the experience (you only ever learn from losses!), and I have implemented a few changes.  Hopefully the experience has made me a better trader.

My ADPR finished the year  0.70% per day for the whole of 2005 which, of course, gets compounded.    While this may not be the 1% of dreams (which I still see as being do-able),  it's still a very satisfying figure, particularly when considering that this is a 'real-money' account with relatively low volatility and quite conservative risk policies.
